Canine Companion Adoption Contract: A Shared Commitment

This document outlines the mutual responsibilities between the Breeder and the New Owner to ensure the lifelong well-being of the puppy.

Section 1: Commitments of the New Owner

By adopting this puppy, you, the New Owner, agree to the following terms of care and responsibility:

• Financial Responsibility: You agree to cover the full adoption fee for the puppy and any related transportation costs.

• Secure Environment & Oversight: You will provide a safe and supervised living situation. The puppy will not be left alone or unsupervised in an unsecured outdoor area.

• Lifetime of Nurturing Care: You commit to being a dedicated guardian for the dog's entire life. This pledge includes providing a balanced diet, clean water, safe housing, positive social interactions, and all essential veterinary care, including preventative treatments and treatment for any illnesses or injuries.

• Assumption of Risk: You understand that the breeder certifies the puppy's temperament at the time of adoption but cannot be held responsible for any future actions, behaviors, or incidents involving the dog once it is in your care.

• Wellness Updates: You grant the breeder the right to initiate respectful and reasonable follow-up communication to verify the puppy's health, happiness, and successful adjustment to your home.

Section 2: Assurances from the Breeder

We, the Breeder, make the following promises to you:

• Health & Documentation: We guarantee the puppy is healthy at the time of adoption. You will receive the official American Kennel Club (AKC) registration documents required to complete your puppy's registration.

• Temperament Certification: We affirm that the puppy demonstrates a stable and confident disposition.

• Transparent Medical Records: We will supply a comprehensive history detailing all administered vaccines and deworming procedures.

Section 3: Post-Adoption Health Verification

• Essential Veterinary Examination: You agree to schedule a wellness check with a qualified veterinarian within three business days (72 hours) of the puppy's arrival.

• Health Guarantee: Should this initial examination reveal a life-altering congenital or hereditary condition that is determined to be our responsibility, you have the option to return the puppy for a complete refund of the adoption fee. We will also cover all costs associated with the puppy's return transport to us.

Section 4: Ownership Transition & Return Policy

• Breeder's First Option: If you encounter circumstances that prevent you from continuing to provide care for the dog at any stage of its life, your first point of contact must be us. We retain the right to reclaim the dog and will manage the process of securing a new, loving, and permanent home.

• 30-Day Adjustment Period: We want this to be a perfect match. If within the first 30 days you find you are unable to form a bond with the dog or are otherwise dissatisfied, you may return it for a full refund.

• Ownership Transfer Authorization: You may not transfer ownership of the dog to any other individual without first receiving our written consent.

• Prohibited Surrender: The dog must never be relinquished to a commercial pet store, animal shelter, humane society, research laboratory, or any similar facility.
