The health and wellbeing of every kitten is our top priority at Ben’s Oriental Shorthair Cats. We stand behind the quality of our breeding program with a comprehensive health guarantee designed to give you peace of mind.

Pre-Adoption Health Protocol: Each kitten receives a thorough veterinary examination before going to their new home. This includes checking for congenital defects, heart murmurs, and any signs of illness. Your kitten will be current on age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming treatments. We provide complete veterinary records detailing all care received.

Health Guarantee Terms: We offer a two-year genetic health guarantee covering serious congenital or hereditary conditions that adversely affect your cat’s quality of life. Should a veterinarian diagnose such a condition within this period, We will work with you to find an appropriate solution, which may include a replacement kitten or refund, depending on circumstances and your preferences.

All kittens are guaranteed free from feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) at the time of adoption. Our breeding cats are regularly tested to maintain a disease-free cattery environment.

Your Responsibilities: To maintain the health guarantee, your kitten must receive a veterinary examination within 72 hours of adoption. This protects both you and me by documenting your kitten’s health immediately upon arrival. You must also provide proper veterinary care, appropriate nutrition, and keep your Oriental as an indoor-only cat throughout their life. Outdoor access voids the health guarantee due to uncontrollable environmental risks.

Beyond the Guarantee: 
Our commitment doesn’t end when your kitten goes home. We’re always available to discuss health concerns, provide feeding advice, or recommend trusted veterinary resources. While We cannot guarantee against every possible health issue cats, like all living creatures, can develop conditions despite best efforts—We guarantee that your kitten comes from healthy, tested parents and receives the best possible start in life.

Should you ever be unable to keep your cat for any reason, I require that you contact me first. I will always take back any cat I’ve bred rather than see them surrendered to a shelter.

Buyer Responsibilities

• Veterinary Care: Once the kitten leaves our care, you assume full responsibility for all veterinary expenses, including exams, vaccinations, medications, and lab tests. No medical costs will be reimbursed by Bens Oriental Shorthair Cats.
• Proper Care: Buyers must provide a safe, clean, and loving home for the kitten. Neglect, abuse, or failure to follow proper care guidelines will void this guarantee.

Shipping & Initial Health Check

• All shipped kittens are vet-checked before departure and receive a veterinary health certificate, confirming they are in good condition at the time of travel.
• For the safety of other pets, we recommend isolating your new kitten until cleared by your veterinarian
